American Lung Association supports CT screening for smokers

There is growing evidence that lung cancer screening with CT saves lives. The American Lung Association recommended CT lung cancer screening for smokers. This is a major step towards the development of a CT screening program for smokers in the U.S. Click here to learn more.

Atlantic Medical Imaging is offering a low dose CT lung screening for patients 55-74 who have smoked at least one pack of cigarettes a day for 30 years or at least two packs of cigarettes a day for 15 years. In addition, patients 50-54 who have smoked at least one pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years and with risk factors such as asbestos exposure or a family history of lung cancer are eligible.

For a limited time, Atlantic Medical Imaging is offering this screening free of charge. The exam will be free of charge for patients with no insurance or for those whose insurance denied approval for the exam.
